How and where to buy your ski pass

You can buy your Les 2 Alpes ski pass online and have it delivered to your home, or you can collect it from one of the ski pass offices in resort.

You can also buy your pass at any of the ski pass offices, but to get the best price we recommend you buy online at least three days in advance.

On top of the lift pass price, you’ll be asked to pay €2 for a hands-free card to use on the turnstiles. This goes for everyone, including children under five (who go free on the lifts).

Hang on to your card at the end of your holiday. You’ll be able to use it on future trips to Les 2 Alpes.

Don't forget to bring a copy of your receipt on holiday. If you lose your lift pass on the mountain, you'll need the receipt to get a replacement.

Season dates in Les 2 Alpes

The Les 2 Alpes ski season runs from 2 December 2023 to 28 April 2024.

Early or late season skiing

Ski passes tend to be cheapest right at the beginning and end of the season, when snow cover is less guaranteed.

How much are ski passes in Les 2 Alpes?

The best pass for you depends on the type of terrain you like to ski, the abilities of your group and how much of the resort you want to explore.

If you've been skiing before

The 'Ski Grand Domaine' pass is probably the lift pass for you. It gives you access to the entire resort, including:

  • 225km of pistes
  • 2,300m of vertical (the longest pisted descent in the world)
  • the largest skiable glacier in Europe (3,600m)
  • two days in neighbouring resort Alpe d'Huez, and one day in Serre Chevalier, Puy St Vincent, Montgenèvre or Sestrière - when you buy a Les 2 Alpes ski pass for six days or longer
  • the swimming pool or ice rink each day - when you buy a Les 2 Alpes ski pass for two days or longer

Les 2 Alpes's slopes actually get easier the higher you go. So even if you're relatively new to the sport, you'll probably want this lift pass.

If you don't want to ski every day

You can buy non-consecutive lift passes for one, five and 10 days.

You'll need to go to a lift pass office to buy a half-day pass. They're not available online.

If you're an intermediate skier who likes it a bit quieter

The 'Ski Petit Domaine - Vallée Blanche' is a one day pass only that you'll need to buy at a ski pass office in Les 2 Alpes.

It gives you access to a less-crowded, quieter area and costs €32.

If you're a beginner

You probably won't want to venture beyond the nursery slopes for the first couple of days if you've never skied or snowboarded. In Les 2 Alpes, there are five nursery slopes that are completely free to use.

Once you've found your legs, the 'Bas des pistes' lift pass is probably the pass for you.

It's a four hour pass that costs €23 and gives you access to 12 drag lifts at the base of the resort. In these early days, four hours is probably as much as you can handle before you'll want to stop for a vin chaud!

But if you're raring to go after that, you might want to look at a two or three day 'Ski grand domaine' pass.

Season passes in Les 2 Alpes

If you're planning to spend more than a couple of weeks in Les 2 Alpes this winter, you've got a few options to save money on your lift journeys:

  • buy a season pass
  • buy a Freedom ski pass - 20 non-consecutive days that you can use whenever you want
  • buy a half season pass - valid from February until the end of the ski season

A Les 2 Alpes season pass costs roughly the equivalent of a three week ski pass, so it's excellent value if you're staying in the resort for a while. You pay a fixed price and then ride the lifts as often or as little as you like.

It also includes:

  • 10 days in Alpe d'Huez
  • three days in Montgenevre, Puy St Vincent, Serre Chevalier or Sestriere
  • a reduced fee to ski La Grave
  • a discount on your First Tracks booking, access to the swimming pool and ice rink

To get the best price, you'll need to buy your season pass before the middle of November. Season pass prices nearly double after that date.

Ski pass insurance in Les 2 Alpes

The prices on this page do not include insurance.

You’ll be given the option to add ski insurance when you buy your ski pass. This is provided by Assur'2 Alpes and normally costs a few euros a day.

You don’t have to buy insurance from the lift company, but we can’t stress how important it is to have a snow sports policy in place before you come skiing or snowboarding in Les 2 Alpes.

Hopefully you’ll never have an accident. But if you have to be helicoptered off the mountain, or spend any time in hospital in France, you could end up with a huge bill.
