- "The hotel staff and owners are so nice, helpful and kind. The location is right on the beginner's slope and really accessible to reach the higher slopes. The rooms are lovely and comfortable with some of them having great views of the slopes. They have a couple of suites which are fantastic. They have a very spacious ski locker which is heated. Nice hot tub with a sauna which is bootable so it doesn't get overcrowded. They serve lunch on the veranda which is lovely when the sun is shining and very relaxing." - Trip Advisor
- "Having stayed in this French family run hotel for three years now I cannot emphasise enough how kind the owners are. This is also reflected in the staff that work for them. Attention to detail does not go unnoticed. They really cannot do enough for you." - Trip Advisor
- "Great hotel. Large and very comfortable and homely lounge areas. Very nice room with balcony. Fantastic food. Staff all charming and very accommodating. Lovely sauna and Jacuzzi." - Trip Advisor
The local market town of Bourg d'Oisans only a 20 to 30 minute drive away can supply pretty much everything a visitor would need - decent sized supermarket, garages, car hire, vet (don't forget to get Fido wormed for the trip home) and the rest, not to mention a thriving Saturday market and numerous cafés, ideal on a sunny weekend.
2 Alpes caters for everyone from the gourmet to the fast food fan. At the top end, the Chalet Hotel Mounier offers tasting menus and an extensive wine list, and the Raisin d'Ours is owner-run by the Mounier's Michelin-starred former chef. Les Sagnes serves excellent crepes and a range of local specialities in a rustic atmosphere in front of a roaring log fire. Tribeca at one end of town and l'Etable at the other both have great pizzas, and anyone looking for a decent burger 'n' chips need look no further than the British-run Le Takeaway in the centre of town.

The pretty village of La Grave, notorious for its challenging off-piste terrain is about 30 minutes away by road - ride the old gondola for some of the most spectacular mountain views in the region. The ride up to Pic Blanc at Alpe d'Huez an hour away offers views of distant Mont Blanc. Further afield you can tour the Chartreus distillery at Voiron on the other side of Grenoble, visit the museum and grounds of the chateau at Vizille on the D1091, or take a ride on the old funicular railway at St Hilaire du Touvet towards Chambery.

The nine-hole course at 2 Alpes starts appearing out of the snow around May, and is open for business when the resort opens for summer in June. Golfers looking for more of a challenge should head for the course at Uriage les Bain near Grenoble, just over an hour's drive away.

From the Venosc end of town the new high speed Diable chair takes you in comfort to the top of the Cretes and thence up the SuperDiable to the centre of the lift system at Toura. The Jandri Express runs from the centre of town to the snowpark at Toura and then on to the glacier, and the Belle Etoile and Village chairs run from the other end of town up to Cretes at 2100m. Beginners are well served by a series of drag lifts at the bottom of the pistes right next to the town.
