- "We've stayed at Club Med in Les Deux Alpes twice now and have been very happy on both occasions. The hospitality is great with the staff going out of their way to help. The quality of the alcoholic drinks is good and the food on both occasions has been superb. The rooms are very compact but impeccably clean and the facilities in the small bathroom work well." - Trip Advisor
- "The Club Med experience was fantastic...again. Super value for money, superb food and some highly entertaining evening shows. Staff are obviously highly motivated, extremely friendly and helpful. Our connections were well managed and accurate even though we were the only Club Med L2Alpes customers on our flights to and from Geneva. Although the rooms are a bit tight to be honest the beds were big and comfortable, the rooms were warm & dry and the showers excellent and as well as plenty of calories this was all we needed for a very active, energetic holiday." - Trip Advisor
- "We were 3 skier/snowboarders and 3 non. Ski lessons such a bonus and instructors great. Food was far beyond what we expected. I can not say enough about the amazing staff from the morning send off to the slopes to the sangria and oysters on return. The delightful little village is a walk away or the free bus for tired legs. We had fun and really relaxed." - Trip Advisor
The local market town of Bourg d'Oisans only a 20 to 30 minute drive away can supply pretty much everything a visitor would need - decent sized supermarket, garages, car hire, vet (don't forget to get Fido wormed for the trip home) and the rest, not to mention a thriving Saturday market and numerous cafés, ideal on a sunny weekend.
2 Alpes caters for everyone from the gourmet to the fast food fan. At the top end, the Chalet Hotel Mounier offers tasting menus and an extensive wine list, and the Raisin d'Ours is owner-run by the Mounier's Michelin-starred former chef. Les Sagnes serves excellent crepes and a range of local specialities in a rustic atmosphere in front of a roaring log fire. Tribeca at one end of town and l'Etable at the other both have great pizzas, and anyone looking for a decent burger 'n' chips need look no further than the British-run Le Takeaway in the centre of town.

The pretty village of La Grave, notorious for its challenging off-piste terrain is about 30 minutes away by road - ride the old gondola for some of the most spectacular mountain views in the region. The ride up to Pic Blanc at Alpe d'Huez an hour away offers views of distant Mont Blanc. Further afield you can tour the Chartreus distillery at Voiron on the other side of Grenoble, visit the museum and grounds of the chateau at Vizille on the D1091, or take a ride on the old funicular railway at St Hilaire du Touvet towards Chambery.
Things to Do Nearby
Although noted for its glacier and big summer and winter snowparks, 2 Alpes offers a wide range of activities. Speed riding is increasingly popular in winter, as is ski randonnee (cross country skiing). There are great opportunities for off piste at all levels, both here and in the linked area of La Grave, and daily helicopter trips leave from the helipad at 2100m. There are several parapenting schools, and in summer the resort offers tennis, golf, swimming and skating, as well as great walking opportunities and a huge and rapidly expanding mountain biking area.

The nine-hole course at 2 Alpes starts appearing out of the snow around May, and is open for business when the resort opens for summer in June. Golfers looking for more of a challenge should head for the course at Uriage les Bain near Grenoble, just over an hour's drive away.
Book My Round
From the Venosc end of town the new high speed Diable chair takes you in comfort to the top of the Cretes and thence up the SuperDiable to the centre of the lift system at Toura. The Jandri Express runs from the centre of town to the snowpark at Toura and then on to the glacier, and the Belle Etoile and Village chairs run from the other end of town up to Cretes at 2100m. Beginners are well served by a series of drag lifts at the bottom of the pistes right next to the town.
