Deux Alpes Snow Report: 3rd April 2014
Spring skiing with 3 weeks left of the season
It's been a pretty mild week so far with a few light snow flurries due tonight and later on tomorrow.
For April there's still really good snow cover, as Di tells us;
Everything is open, even the nursery slopes [which might be turning to mud in other low down resorts]. As soon as possible in the morning beginners should head up to the Cretes area where conditions are more forgiving and there is a beginner button and a 'magic carpet' so still easy learning terrain.
It can be a bit icy/firm first thing in the morning now due to the refreeze, therefore we are getting some spring snow conditions across the main part of the day which is great to ski on, and inevitably a bit of slush on the warmer days lower down. Looking good for the Easter holidays though as we are a resort with such high skiing options. We had blue skies all this week until today when it is overcast and grey.
