Deux Alpes Snow Report: 24th March 2014

A chilly week ahead with more snow on the forecast

featured in Snow report Author Ellie Mahoney, Les 2 Alpes Editor Updated

Compared to the last few weeks, it's going to be a pretty chilly one this week in Deux Alpes with temperatures well below freezing until the weekend.

Snow clouds have dumped overnight and snow flurries are continuing today, which means a) low vibility but b) fresh powder.. and Rod from BASS has been hitting up the trees, making the most of it before he starts work.

Check out his video which includes our favourite snow dog Rusty trying to keep his head above the powder! :-)

In bad weather or low visibility, heading for the trees is a good option so you get depth of vision.. read more in our guide on where to ski on bad weather days, but be careful if this means you're going to be heading off piste. Going off piste, especially after a dump of snow can be risky, so always ensure you're with someone else and that you each have the necessary avalanche transceiver, shovel & probe as a minimum.
