The events calendar in the Southern Alps is already looking pretty full and neither of the resorts are officially open yet.
Alpe d'huez is, as ever, popular with cyclists wanting to tackle the legendary "21 bends" and Les Deux Alpes has unprecedented levels of snow on it's glacier.
I'll be back at the beginning of July with weekly updates on life in both resorts.

The lifts across the Alps close this Sunday and, with a few
exceptions, the winter season finishes.
What a winter it’s been though! It seems like only yesterday
that the lifts opened but since December we have had so many great days on and
off piste and so many events and parties have taken place.
